The Mairena del Alcor Town Hall, in collaboration with the consulting firm Aviva Formación, has designed a protocol against physical and verbal violence in its municipal schools and sports facilities.

The Mairena del Alcor Town Hall has begun to apply the Organic Law for the Protection of Childhood and Adolescence against Violence (LOPIVI) in all its municipal sports facilities and schools. The initiative, developed with the technical support of the consulting firm Aviva Formación, aims to create safe environments for minors in the municipality. According to the Councillor for Equality, Alejandro Cruz, childhood is one of the most vulnerable groups, and the administration must act decisively in the face of any risk.

The project has already completed its initial phases, which include a risk analysis of the sports spaces, training for municipal staff, and the installation of informative signage. The Councillor for Sports, Javier Rodríguez, has detailed that all monitors, caretakers, coordinators, and reception staff have received specific training to detect and act upon signs of physical or verbal violence.

Practical protocol adapted to the facilities

The expert in child protection in sports environments, Manuel Lobo, has emphasized that the goal is for the protocol to have a practical nature and not just be a legal obligation. To this end, sensitive points such as changing rooms, swimming pools, and enclosed areas have been identified, where risky situations may arise. The facilities will feature visible signs with emergency phone numbers and the figure of a Child Protection Delegate, whom users can approach directly.

The main objective is to create safe environments and raise awareness among all social agents linked to sports.

This measure directly affects the residents of Mairena del Alcor, especially families with children participating in municipal sports schools. Parents can feel more at ease knowing that the staff is trained and that accessible reporting channels exist. Furthermore, the Town Hall anticipates a second phase in which it will coordinate with local sports clubs that use the municipal facilities, so that they also adhere to the protocol.

Commitment to child safety

Thus, the Mairena del Alcor Town Hall reinforces its commitment to the protection of children, in a context where violence against minors is a social scourge. The initiative is framed within LOPIVI, a law that requires sports entities to have prevention protocols in place. So far, many municipalities have been progressively implementing these measures, and Mairena del Alcor is at the forefront in the province of Seville.

For the governing team, this action is one of the most important of the legislature, as it guarantees the well-being of minors in such a commonplace area as sports. Training will continue periodically, and results will be evaluated to improve the protocol.
